Matthew Turner is an Executive with GE Energy’s Global Projects Operations. Turner leads a global team to improve the design, cost and construction schedule of GE’s power plants. Turner also drives operational excellence and project risk management across GE Energy Infrastructure’s 20+ businesses.
Turner joined GE in 2005. He led several company-wide initiatives including global sourcing, lean applications to innovation, selling and fulfillment, and GE’s customer loyalty program.
Turner is a 1996 graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.S. in Political Science. In 2001, he enrolled at the Harvard Business School to attain his MBA. Upon graduation, he was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Award for outstanding leadership.
In 1998, Turner was appointed to serve a 5 year term on the MIT Corporation – MIT’s board of trustee. He continues board service as a presidential appointee to MIT’s Undergraduate Education Visiting Committee.
In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys mentoring youth, attending church, outdoors activities and following New York sports teams.
